Welcome...

If you have found your way here, you may be sensing that something in your life deserves closer attention.

You may look like you are managing on the outside while privately knowing that something in your life no longer feels honest, meaningful, or your own. The same patterns keep repeating. The same questions return. At some point, what has been avoided begins to make itself known.

These questions are not abstract to me. They have shaped both my life and my work: What does it mean to live honestly? Why do certain patterns keep repeating? How do people come to know themselves well enough to make different choices?

My path into psychotherapy began long before my formal education. As far back as I can remember, I felt out of place in the world. I questioned what I saw around me and struggled to understand myself, my family, and the life I was expected to enter.

Coming from a family impacted by addiction, I entered adulthood feeling unprepared for life, unsure of myself and others, and destined to repeat many of the unconscious patterns I had been running from.

By the time I came to therapy, I was lost, angry, and living a life I did not want.

Therapy became the place where I stopped hiding behind old defences, began telling the truth, and learned to face my life without turning away. I have done a great deal of my own personal depth work, and that work continues to shape me. I credit it with changing the direction of my life; more than that, it is where I began to meet myself more fully.

That lived experience matters in how I practice. I know something of what it means to sit on the other side of the room, not as an idea, but from the inside. I do not confuse my story with yours, but it has taught me to bring seriousness, humility, and respect to the work.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I completed my formal training as a mature student while working in the field and raising my two daughters in North Bay, Ontario. My life as a mother, lifelong learner, philosopher at heart, and lover of nature keeps my work grounded in responsibility, change, resilience, and the everyday challenges of being human.

Socrates cautioned that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” I understand this not as a call to endlessly analyze ourselves, but as an invitation to live with greater honesty and awareness.

My approach is depth-oriented and existential. I am interested in more than techniques for getting by. I pay attention to what symptoms, stuck places, conflicts, longings, and defences may reveal about how you have learned to survive, where your life has become constrained, and what may now require your attention.

Therapy is not something done to you from a distance. It is a collaborative and active process of looking closely at your life as it is actually being lived: the patterns you return to, the choices that feel difficult to face, the relationships that have shaped you, and the responsibility of deciding how you want to live.

I do not offer quick fixes or the promise of simple answers. I offer careful, honest, insight-based therapy for people who are ready to slow down, be honest about what is happening, and begin making different choices with greater understanding and intention.

If something in you recognizes the need for that kind of conversation, I invite you to begin there, not with certainty, but with a willingness to look, listen, and see what becomes possible.

If this approach speaks to the kind of work you are looking for, you are welcome to reach out or book a session.
